Great Partnership, Great Program

Last Friday, we were honored to have Claire Casey, Mindy Feldbaum, and Russ Rainer of the AARP Foundation visit Circle Center. Ms. Casey, President of the Foundation, said, "We have offices all over the country and I feel it's critically important to meet our program participants and the staff at the organizations with whom we partner."

What program, you ask?

For many years, Circle Center has served as a host agency for the Department of Labor's Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). AARP Foundation administers the program by matching eligible job seekers with area public agencies and local nonprofits.

"AARP sends us great employees through SCSEP! They fill important needs in our operations and they remind us all of the value of work and that age is not a determinant of one's ability to contribute," remarked Lisa Pacelli, Director of Operations at Circle Center.

Circle Center currently has six SCSEP workers on site working in our kitchen, in reception, and on our custodial team. The SCSEP participants seem to enjoy it here, too. "I'm so glad to have found this program," said Diane Square who works in reception.
