Medicaid Renewal

Don’t miss out!

For more than two years, all enrolled Medicaid members have had continuous health coverage regardless of changes in circumstance. However, the normal renewal process for all Medicaid members will resume this spring 2023. Some Virginia Medicaid members will receive renewal information in the mail as early as March 18, 2023, with closures starting no earlier than April 30, 2023.

If you are a Medicaid Member, you should complete the following steps to avoid gaps in your coverage:

Step 1: Update your contact information

Update your contact information as soon as possible to ensure you receive this important paperwork. You can do that by one of these three ways:

  1. online at commonhelp.virginia.gov;
  2. call Cover Virginia at 1-855-242-8282; or,
  3. visit your local Department of Social Services Office.

Step 2: Check your mail

Check your mail for a letter about your Medicaid coverage. This letter will also indicate if you need to complete a renewal form to see if you still qualify for Medicaid.

Step 3: Complete the renewal form (if you get one)

Complete the renewal form (if you get one) and return it right away to help avoid a gap in your Medicaid health coverage.
