We can’t think of a time more appropriate to celebrate connections as this past year has reminded us all just how important connections are. So we are thrilled to be celebrating our history of 45 Years of Connections in honor of our 45th Anniversary this May.
In 1976, The Stuart Circle Center opened its doors in the basement of First English Lutheran in The Fan, as a partnership between five parish communities who recognized the need to support their aging adults and caregivers. That need has only grown, and with it our mission to provide community based, person centered care for aging adults and their caregivers. That commitment has never wavered and it is stronger than ever as we emerge from the devastation this pandemic has wreaked on our community, and in particular, on our aging population.
For 44 years and counting we have championed the independence of aging adults and created countless connections. Connections that we know are a powerful tool to combat social isolation. The moments of joy that bloom when participants connect with each and form meaningful friendships. The moment when caregivers connect with each other and realize they aren’t alone. The moments when family members realize they can continue to find ways to connect with their loved ones. The moments when we connect with our community through support, compassion, and resources. These are the moments of connection that we are celebrating as we turn 45.
We believe the pandemic put a spotlight on the need for the engaging, safe, and socially impactful programs we provide. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we invite you to partner with us in our goal to raise $45,000 to sustain our work for the next 45 years and beyond. We hope you will join us in our weeklong celebration as we virtually and safely celebrate connections.
